22 LOCAL YOUTHS EARN CADET RANK Assignments Follow Month’s Training as Unit at West Point. Twenty-two Washington youths are fncluded in the 313 members of this Fear's plebe class at West Point Military | Academy who have been assigned ml Yegulsr companies in the Corps of Cadets, according to information made lic at the headquarters of the 3d Area, U. 5. A. The assignments are made after one month’s training as a unit in_guard duty, rifle marksman- ship and bayonet and infantry drill. Members of this plebe class may now participate in ail parades, reviews and other ceremonies. A five-day hike, giv- ing instruction in march discipline, camping, fleld cooking, camp sanita- tion, care of equipment, etc., will begin August 19. Academic work is scheduled to start September 3.
