~+BYRD CEREMONIES ON NET WITH WRC Broadcast From Washington Auditorium Scheduled for 8:30 to 9 Tonight. Ceremonies at the Washington Audi- torfum tonight, at which President Hoo- | ver will decorate Rear Admiral Richard | E. Byrd with the National Geographic | Soclety gold medal of hongr, will be broadcast by WRC and a network of | other National Broadcasting Co. sta- | tions. The broadcast is scheduled from 8:30 to 9 o'clock. The ceremonies are sandwiched be- tween two outstanding N. B. C. at- tractions. the concert of the Clicqitot | Club Eskimos and the Raleigh Revue. | The program of the Eskimos will have & distinct nautical flavor. It includes | a selection from “Hit the Deck,” the | overture “Deep Blue Sea,” and “Sandy | Hook.” Ohman and Arden, the plano duo, will feature the revue program with an original interpretation of “The Twelfth Street Reg.” The ensemble selections range from a medley of hits from “Heads Up” to excerpts from “Good Morning, Dearle.” Other Major Attractions. WRC's other major attractions are the Cities Service Hour, the Kodak week end program and a 15-minute broadcast by Peter de Ross and May | Singhi Breen, who are to celebrate their seventh anniversary on the air. A group of popular radio stars headed by Welcome Lewis and Andy Sanella will assist them. WRC also will broadcast a blow-by- blow ringside description of the Strib- ling-Von Porat fight in Chicago. The event 1s scheduled from 10 to 11 o'clock. Selections from “The Three Musket- eers” and “The Rogue Song” and other gzpuhr melodies will be presented in e Cities Service hour. The specialty ‘will be a duet version of “In the Spring & Young Man's Fancy,” by Jessica Dragonette, soprano, and Leo O'Rourke, tenor. The Kodak Prog‘mm will feature a tabloid version of “Queen High” and an_adaptation of “Valse Mirage.” Old and new musical comedy hits will be played during the Sign of the Green and White program tonight over WMAL and associated Columbia Broad- casting System stations.
