Joseph, successful “vin- @leation” candidate for the Republican momination for governor in the recent Oregon primaries, and Thomas Mannix, | Portland attorney, were under perma- nent disbarment today by order of the State Supreme Court. The decision upheld the recommen- | dation of a board of Oregon lawyers, | appointed by the Supreme Court, that Joseph be disbarred for life for an al- leged attack on Justice John L. Rand. Disregarding the board’s recommen- dation of three years' disbarment for Mannix Supreme Court decreed the attorney should never be permitted to| practice law in Oregon again.
