" OPENED ON GANGS - PUBLICITY DRIVE Chicago Publishes “Who's _Ho_odlum" and Will Harass Public’s Enemies. By the Associated Press. CHICAGO, April 24—Who's Hoodlum tn Chicago” was published today. With Alfonse Capone, the scar-faced over- lord of gangland, named first, the Chi- ©cago Crime Commission prepared a list ©of 28 notorfous gangsters, gunmen and racketeers who “are constantly in con- Blict with the law.” Edited by Frank J. Loesch, president of the crime body and a member of President Hoover's law enforcement commission, the list was sent to city, county and Federal law enforcement agencies with a reminder that “these men are public enemies and should be treated accordingly.” Leaders of every gangland faction were named. ‘There was George (Bugs) Moran, heir to the North Side mob, hustled together by Dion O'Banion; “Polack Joe” Saltis, stockyards district chieftain; Frankie Lake and Terry Druggan, the original Dbeer barons of Chicago ;and Joe Adello, last of the once powerful Alello West Bide clan, Result of Merger Report. ‘The crime commission’s action, it was sald, was resultant of the recent Teport that all of Chicago's gangs had merged under the wing of Capone and that the slogan of the underworld ‘would be, “All for Al and Al for all.” ‘To this, Loesch, the veteran crime crusader, answered: “All for law, and law for all.” In a footnote to the list, Loesch ex- E-lned “treated accordingly” as mean- g “vigilant watchfulness and arrests, court action, deportation of criminal aliens, invesfigation of personal prop- erty tax payments and of the status of their realty holdings and taxes, in- uiries as to income taxes, raids on eir disorderly houses, gambling halls, night clubs and dog tracks, inquiry as to their political affiliations and publi- cation of the facts, publication of busi- mess and residence addresses, business affiliations, banking connections . and other interests.” Pledge of Co-operation, Police Commissioner William Russell, Bheriff John Traeger, State’s Attorney John Swanson and United States Dis- trict Attorney George E. Q. Johnson all pledged to co-operate with the Crime Commission to the extent that !:wtma will be constantly harassed . intil they're so sick of it they will ave.” ¥ ‘The “Who's Hoodlum” included: Ralph (Bottles) Capone, brother and reputed head of “Scarface Al's” Cicero interests; Tony (Mops) Volpa, Prank Rio, alias Kline; James Belcastro, Rocco Fannelli, Lawrence (Dago) Man- gano, Jack Gusick, Frank Diamond, Joseph (Peppy) Genaro, Danny Stan- ton and Jack Demore, alias “Machine- Jack McGurn,” all reputed Capone ienchmen; Edward (Spike) O'Donnell, Prank McErlane, known as Chicago's “toughest gangster,” and his brother, Vincent, three South Side allies; Myles and Willilam (Klondike) O'Donnell, ‘West Side chieftains; Willlam Nei- month, who has long evaded extradition to Baltimore; George (Red) Barker, labor racketeer; William (Three-fin- gered) White, Leo Mungoven and James (Fur) Sammons. o “HUGUENOT SOCIETY RE-ELECTS HERRICK Judge Lobingier Heads Committee to Co-operate in Bicentennial Celebration, Samuel Herrick was re-elected presi- dent of the Huguenot Society of Wash- at its annual meeting, in St. m Hall, Sixteenth and !'! streets, last night. its territory the The society embraces in District of Columbia, d, Virginia and Delaware.
