Wiley, Miss Janet Richards, Miss Belle Sherwin, presi- dent of the National League of Women Voters, and Mrs, Bertha Yoder Werth- ner gave short addresses as the prin- cipal feature of the program, which was presided over by Mrs. Anna E. Hendley of the Anthony League. Mrs, Hendley, in calling the meeting to or- der, used the gavel which belonged to Susan B. Anthony, Various Reforms Reviewed. Mrs. Wiley reviewed the varlous re- forms in which Miss Anthony was in- terested, ting out that her serviee to the coun had not been solely as a m.oneer for woman suffrage. “She was trumental in gaining better condi- tions and higher salaries for teachers in _our schools; in obtaining Negro Suffrage and in alding the cause of temperance, as well as doing outstand- ing wor the cause of suffrage for women,” declared Mrs. Wiley, Miss Richards told many personal recollections of Miss Anthony and re- ferred to the book by Mrs. Ida Husted Harper as being the authentic biography of the pioneer feminist.
