November 15.—A reward of $35,000 if taken alive and $70,000, if dead, was offered today for seven men, armed and masked, who raided the suburban home of John L. Carson, jr., last night, during a pre- nuptial dinner’ party in honor of a prominent young couple. Lining the 18 guests and half a dozen servants against a wall, the robbers stripped them of jewelry valued by the guests at about $400,000. They also obtained a small amount of cash and fur wraps from an upper floor.
