MEXICO CITY, September 27.—De- claring that certain clauses in the pro- med national labor law, which ha. n approved in general by the Cham- ber of Deputies, would bring ruin to Mexican industry, Adrian Rene Lajous general manager of the Ford Motor Co. of Mexico, yesterday sent a memorial to | Congress urging amendments to the | measure. He explained that the motive of the memorial was to avoid a situation which might cause the withdrawal of capital | already invested in Mexico and discour- | age the investment of further funds. ‘While the Chamber of Deputies has voted approval of the measure as a| whole, {t still is subject to detailed dis- cussion, in the course of which modifi- cations may be adopted. Senor Lajous said the provision which would compel employers who hire nvore than 20 workers to enter into collectiv contracts with them was unconstitu tional. He argued that industry in Mex. ico does not possess the enormous fund necessary to build homes for its work: ers, as provided in another clause of the bill. He also found fault with the indemnity clause of the bill.
