PEETETTT FEER! Trading Slower. BY JOHN A. CRONE. @pecial Dispatch to The Star. NEW YORK. September 27.—Revers- ing an early reactionary trend, prices on the curb today rallied under the leadership of utilities. Aviation shares remained weak, a few of them, such as North Americun Aviation, touching new low prices. Motor shares, in sympathy with trends over on the big board, softened. Ford of France reached a record low mark. Standard Power & Light moved up- ward in unison with Standard Gas and its afMliates over on the Stock Ex- change. Although United Light & Power, which was a feature in Thurs- day’s late trading. was less firm in the early part of the session, it managed to maintain a position near its best Tevels. Trading Features. Electric Bond & Share merely see- sawed. It is increasing its common stock for the ostensible purpose of tak- ing over Electric Investors, but actually with the idea of eventually acquiring American Power & Light, the rest of American & Foreign Power, National Power & Light, Electric Power & Light and American Gas & Electric. Many of these shares are active and some ©of them are higher. Oities Service common, following the announcement of the cailing of a spe- cial shareholders’ meeting, at which terms for subscriptions to new stock will be revealed, rose to a fresh peak. Persistent rumors about its plans for expansion in natural gas is causing ac- cumulation of its securities. Other pe- troleum shares did not follow Cities Service's upward path. Memphis Natural Gas easily pushed through its previous maximum prices early in the session.
