Profit-taking was well absorbed, most losses being re-| | stricted to a point or less. i There was little in the day's news to affect the market, although the| | week end businese reviews again stressed | | the exceptionally high rate of lctlvltyl in several major industries, and in-| dicated that no important Summer re- | cession is in prospect. Traders, how- | | ever, were inclined to exercise caution, 1 | feeling that the market had reached' | an overbought condition in yesterday’s| sharp upturn. The rails, however, had one of their | most violent advances of the year. New | York Central was sent up 16 points to| |a record price at 235 and closed at Union Pacific jumped nearly 13| points to a peak at 265.
