SPORTS. BURKE, ONCE YANKEE OLYMPIC STAR, DIES By the Associated Press. BOSTON, February 15.—One of the greatest middle distance men of all time, ‘Thomas E. Burke, who won the 100 and he 400 meter races at the first of the modern Olympic games at Athens in 1896, is dead from a shock suffered last Baturday.
