McGill of 900 K street northwest were married 50. years October 31, 1928. It was also Mr. 0Gill's seventy-fourth birthday anni- versary. A family dinner g.ny was given in the home of their daughter, Mrs. John C. Bhaw. The table was artistically ar- ranged, the color scheme of yellow and white being carried out. The two-tiered wedding cake was decorated in tiny yellow birds and showed the dates 1878- 1028. Place cards were ringing & golden bell. Gold crowns disclosing an inset of the number 50 were worn by the bride and bridegroom during din- ner. They sat side by side at the table. Two cupids dressed as bride and bride~ groom were standing at the base of the e s e e path of gol of honor. 'This path comprised 50 $2.50 gold pleces, which carried out the number in years and was symbolic of lden wedding. One of the im- pressive moments during the dinner was when Mrs. McGill gave a touc) tomst referring to the past, present an future of her family. At the completion of the dinner it was sl sted that the y 80 to the home of another daughter, Mrs. Denis E. Connell, in order that the grand- children might appear in costume for a Halloween party.
