CHICAGO, November 1.— Negotia- tions for a $6.000,000 consolidation of nine aviation companies operating air lines, factories and schools throughout the Middle West were consummated yesterday with the announcement that the Universal Air Lines and Western Air Express had acquired control of the Fokker Corporation of America. ‘The combined company, to be named the Universal Aviation Corporation, will operate routes between Cleveland, Chicago and the Twin Cities, between Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City and Omaha and between Duluth, Minne- apolis and Fargo. Piper, Minneapolis, will head the new concern, with Frank Robertson, head of the Robertson Air- craft Corporation, directing the St. Louis office; Maj. P. J. Kemp, president of Universal Air Lines, in charge at Chicago, and Capt. Paul Goldsborough, president of Northern Aeronautics, man- ager at Minneapolis. Working agree- ments for joint ticket sales have been made with the American Express Co., the Greyhound Bus Lines and the New York Central Lines, and similar plans will be proposed to the Soo Line and the Canadian Pacific Railroad. The consolidated companies include the Universal Air Lines, Robertson Air- craft Corporation, Northern Air Line, Universal Air Lines System Terminal Co., Mid-Plane Sales & Transit Co., Northrup Airplane Co., Air Transporta- tion, Inc.; Egyptian Airways, Robert- son Flying Schools and the Fokker Corporation of America. Testimony has been completed before the commission which has been named to assess the value of the land in the two squares lying east of the Capitol between East Capitol street and Mary- land avenue and First and Second streets, wanted as a site for the United States Supreme Court Building.
