COMMUNISTS PLAN STANCH CAMPAIG Foster, Workers’ Party Nom- inee, Will Speak Here on Jctober 17. Br the Associated Press. NEW YORK, September 19.—The national headquarters of the Workers (Communist) Party have announced that by October it would have mage speakers than any other political parly in the fleld, carrying the red flag of “relentless. revolution” from coast to coast and Canadian border down into the “solid South.” Their aim is not victory in the November elections, for that they admit is impossible, but to utilize the cam- paign for the dissemination of propa- ganda aimed at the eventual shattering of the present “capitalistic® form of Government and the establishment of “the Soviet government of the United States,” behind which, they assert, will stand the red army to enforce the dic- tatorship of the proletariat. The standard-bearers of the Workers (Com- Teapot Dome.” It is on the ballots now in 23 States and hopes to be on in 35; four years ago its candidates were listed on the ballots of only 14 States. Favor Dry Law Repeal. The party platform favors repeal of the Volstead act and the eighteenth amendment to be followed by energetic propaganda against alcoholism “as one of the most malignant social diseases under capitalism.” It asserts that pro- hibition is played up as an issue by the major parties purely to cover ‘up the lack of any real difference between them and to distract the attention of 7 <he workers from the real major issues. The attitude of the Socialist party toward prohibition it calls “especially lhlme(ur.“ It asserts that Socialist opposition to prohibition on the ground, given in its platform, that “further persistence in the tragic farce threatens a complete breakdown of iaw and order,” exposes the party “in its true role as the upholder of capitalist law and order.” Foster's Itinerary.
