LAKEVIEW, Oreg., September 8.— Admitting, it is declared by the State prosecutor, that it was she who pur- chased the lond-bladed knife which an unknown assailant plunged into the heart of her husband, “Slim” Harris, famous rodeo performer, Lorena Trickey, his wife, also a rodeo rider, today was held here in connection with purchased the knife oh Thursday, District Attorney Hay said. Harris slain Friday night as he and his wife were driving slowly along the highway near Lakeview. Miss Tricks d, when questioned immedi- ately after the killing, that a tall man had jumped from the underbrush be- side the road, leaped upon the run ning board of the Harris car and stabbed Harris in the chest. The as- sailant then vanished, she d, adding that she could not identify him. In endeavoring to explain the eir- cumstances surrounding the tragedy, Miss Trickey told the prosecutor the knife must have been stolen from the roundup barn, where she had left it. No formal charge has been filed sarly today against either Miss Trickey or Bob Brown, cowboy, who also was detained in connection with the Harris death. Lake County authorities were said to be invest & reports that Miss Trickey was alleged to have threatened the life of her husband on several occasions.
