Sales of more than $4. 000,000 in this issue represented ha the day’s total transactions, with the price advancing from 101 to 101%. Purchases of the bonds were be lieved to be for Government account. The Treasury recently annouced that it would receive tenders of $50.000.- 000 up to a price of 101%, at which time considerable bidding for these obligations developed to take ad- vantage of the price margin then pre- vailing.
