Barney, Gene and Tom pounded the pavement last Monday morning when the fire alarm rang: they were honored with certain ceremonies; motion pictures were made, and Washington saw the passing of the last team of fire horses. The three big grays will spend the remainder of their lives in green fields, under spreading trees and beside brooks that wind through meadows.
