Smaller Companies to Compete for Standard Business. LOS ANGELES, Calif., February 7.— Seventy of the smaller oil companies with refineries in southern California are preparing to enter thg central and northern retail fields in com- petition with the Standard Oil of California and other large producers. This has come about as a result of the 2-cent increase in price. The smaller companies, in gome instances, are naming prices as low as 15 cents a gallon, including the 2-cent State tax.
