But:Brom Bones, his rival in love, waited along the road. When Ichabod reached the ha uhted bridge, with his excited feats of ghosts, the Headless Horseman appeared and chased him until he was so scared that he never returned to Sleepv Hollow, All that-was ever found of poor Ichabod was his hat.
