MACKENZIE, By Cable to The Star and Chicago Daily News. Copyright, PETROGRAD, July 8.—The third party of Industrial Workers of the ‘World, numbering 110, including six- teen women and twenty-two children, has arrived in Petrograd on the steamer Warszawa. The ship's offi- cers declared that in all their ex- perience they had never before seen such a difficult crowd to handle. Many of them defied the ship's regu- lations, the captain finding it neces- sary to carry a revolver when he went among them) They had somewhat of a shock when on reaching here' they learned that the railway accommodation tor their fortnight's journey to Siberia was a freight train composed of plain trucks without even seats, bogie wheels or springs for the men and two fourth-class rough, wooden cars for the women and children, and even these coaches had to be fumigated before it was possible to use them. Consequently, most of the party had to spend their first two nights ashore on the whart. % : Groups Want to Return. Varlous other groups contemplate returning to Russia from the United States. The Molokanes who went from Transcaucasia to the western part of the United States sent dele- gates here months ago to ar for repatriation. Kaiutenko, their leader, who is here, repor hat the government has offered tham a rich triangle of virgin land in southern Russia, around Torgolvya. They left Russia mainly because of their objec- tion to conscription, which caused them to be persecuted. The present government offers them religious freedom and exemption from ‘con- scription. Old Omes Homesick. The main causes of their desiring to leave the United States are home- ‘si¢ckness among the older members, dificulty in_ acquiring the English language and the rapidly rising price of land in California, which checks their further expansion thera. All the agriculturists are expested to re- turn to Russla, the first parties leav- ing about October.
