ROCKVILLBE, Md, November 19.— John A. Ramsdel of Eagle Pa; ex.,; Samuel Yanco of Boston, and Emmett Robinson of Washington are under ar1ast here on a charge of assaulting and robbing Willlam Franklin, i Washington chauffeur, near Chevy Chase lake, this county, at a very early hour Thursday morning. They have been committed to jall here to await the action of the grand jury now in session. It Is eharged that the three men engaged Franklin to drive them to Chevy Chase, and that when the lake was reached one of them struck the chauffeur on the back of the head with a club, knocking him from the car The three men then, It is said, drove off. The tar got stuck in the mud near Tobytown, this county, and was aban- doned, the men starting back toward Washington on foot. ‘When they reached Rockville, they were placed under arrest by Deputy Sheriffs Cay- wood, Gingell and Rogers: Franklin was not seriously hurt. Grand Jury Drops Cases From Cor- oner’s Juries—True Bills. The grand Jjury has exonerated two women, two men and a fifteen- year-old boy of charges of homicide on which they had been held by coro- ner's juries. Four of the cases were traffic accidents. The accused were John J. Schmitt, Herbert Bomgard- ner, David Boulder, Maggie Marshall and Nina Baumgartner. The frlnd jurors also ignored a charge of b- berv against Ethel Moore and one of joy riding against Jesse Briscoe. Murder in the second degree is charged in an indictment reported against Alberta Garner, who is al- leged to have shot to death Arthur Garner September 14 last.
