UTDOOR life in Washington last week was made doubly attrac- tive by several events, such as the two championship bouts be- tween the Cuban and American polo teams, two charming garden parties at Dean place—that of Thursday afternoon, given by the Women’s Foundation, while yesterday the National Women's Press Club held sway there. There were informal picnic parties, too, and river parties, while the Potomac Park speedway presented an ever moving pan- orama of motorists who were always sure of a breeze. One of the par- ticularly interesting spots in that vicinity is the bathing beach, and dip- lomats and official and resident society folk all drive that way to catch a glimpse of the overcrowded pools, where little aristocrats bathe side by side with the less fortunate.
