Che Casper Sunday Cribune Theatricals - SCREEN PLAYERS OF NOTE | PICTURE COMING TO RIALTO Jacqueline Logan, Percy Mar- mont, Sigrid Holmquist and David Torrence are featured players in George Melford’s Paramount pro- duction, “The Light That Failed,” from Rudyard Kipling's famous story, which will be on view at the Rialto theater for three days, begins ning Tuesday next. Jacqueline Logan, who heads the cast, 1s one of the best known hero- ines of the screen. She has appeared in many Paramount pictures in roles which called for unusual ability and has a large following. Fourteen pictures in two years is the medium through which this popular player has won her way to “Java Head” and “Mr. Billings Spends His Dime” and “Salomy Jane.” Percy Marmont, who plays the role of “Dick Heldar,” opposite Misa Logan's characterization of “Bessie Broke,” 1g @n Bnuglish actor whose appearance and experience render him especially fit for this role. Mr. Marmont is well known in England where he achieved distinction in motion pictures and on the stage. In the role of “Maisie Wells, Sigrid Holmquist is given an oppor- tunity to display her talents. She alréady possesses a large fol- lowing which her recent Paramow picture, “A Gentleman of Leisure, in which she appears with Jack Holt, has done, much to incr David Torrence, who pl: penhow,” is a brother of Ermest Torrence of “Covered Wagon” fame and has many successes to his own credit. Much of the story action in “The Light That Failed” 1s located in Port Said and the Soudan country. This is one of the most ambitious pletur yet produced by George Melford.. It shows the terrible hard- ships of the Soudan campaign which avenged the death of General Gordon af Khartum.
