PICKARD F: ILY SINGS IN BROADCAST MONDAY The famous Pickard family of Ten- nessee, widely known in radio for their renditions of so-called “hill- billy” tunes, will broadcast through a. network including KFYR from 9 to 2:30 p. m. Monday, March 19, when L. Eastman'’s orchestra and the Carnation quartet will give a pro- gram of traditional American music. The program will include old songs of the cowboy, the Negro and moun- tain folk songs. The Pickards, led by Dan Pickard, will contribute “Sour- wood Mountain” and “Down in Ar- kansaw”. Carleton Colby has arranged Ste-|1 phen Foster's “Oh Susanna” as an overture for Morgan Eastman and the quartet. The orchestra and male voices Comin’ ’Round the Mountain,” “The Last Round-Up” and “I've Been Lis- tening.” The -Carnation quartet, turning to the Negro type of music, will sing “Go ‘Long Mule”. “Little Alabama Coon” is the choice of the Lullaby Lady for this occasion. The orches- tra will close with “Turkey in the Straw”.
