Sarr ee "BISMARCK DAILY TRIBUNE oc MAROH 17, 1017. DRY CLEANING VS. HOME CLEANING SES TTT, We have made arrangements for this space, with The Tribune, for the Saturday issues through which we wish to compare real dry cleaning with tub or home cleaning. The name dry cleaning comes from the fact that the material to be cleanéd must be dryed before it canbe cleaned. The cleaning is much the same as washing with soap and water with a little soda, but where the difference comes in is the price of the cleaning fluid. The price of water is 37 1-2 cents per 400 cubic feet and that of gasoline 23 and .02 cents per one gallon and benzine soap 28 cents per pound. The benzine soap being as necessary in dry cleaning as soap in water for good washing. After the clean- ing is done it is necessary to thoroughly remove the soap, loose dust and grease by rinsing with clean gasoline\which requires from five to eight gallons per man’s suit.
