WAR SUPPLES, SOLD TO FRENCH ~ UPFORSHLEHERE New Orleans Merchants Pro- test at Marketing Nearly $100,000,000 Worth. } | ' 5 | | | NEW ORLEANS, July 26.—Uncle Sam's overseas surplus war supplics, which were sold to a French syndi- cate, are being brought into the port of New Orleans to be sold on the American market, according to in- formation made public by the New Orleans Association of Commerce to- day. Fearing this action will have a de- Moralizing effect on the American market, the Association of Commerce has wired all Louisiana members of Gongress and the Senate, urging them te enact special legislation to prevent importation of the supplies.
