Trading in fresh fruits was active usually the case on Saturday. but as were ample, prices of several descriptions ranged lower. Cherries continued to arrive freely, but as the demand was better and the market had been well cleaned up by the can- ners on the preceding day, prices of looze stock and_chofce black In small boxes were higher. Some strictly fency black in bulk eold up to 7c per Ib and cartons from San Jose sold over the quotatio: Royal Anne selling at 90c and Black Tartarian at 85¢. The canners were liberal buyers, paying 2%@4> for black and up to 3c for white. The market heavily supplied with Apricots and prices of small packages decilned. Moorparks in large open boxes appeared from the river and as i upplies celpts of Plums were light, but trading in that frult was slow. Green Apples and Pears were easy except for some cholce offerings. Well colored Apples in large boxes found ready sale at the top rate. but inferior offerings were not wanted. Peaches moved freely at slightly firmer prices, offerings being of better quality than those previously received. Small con- signments of Melons and Figs were. received and sold promptly at good prices. Another crate of Grapes came in from Yuma, Arizona, It contained 1 baskets of the Seedless Sul- tana variety. but arrived too late to be sold. Strawberries met with a brisk demand and prices were firmer. Raspberries, Loganberries and Blackberries were in free supply and easfer. The canners secured a few chests of Raspberries at $3 50 per chest. A limited quantity of black Loganberries came in and sold at a slight advance over the red variety. Gooscberries ‘and Currants were pleatitul asd dull, A’ firm feeling prevailed throughout the Cit- rus fruit market. Cholee and fancy Lemons and Oranges were Well cleaned up and steady at previous prices. Mexican Limes are largely nominal, there being very few on hand, but fresh supplles are due at any time.
