The Resuit. But what is the result? Well, that's really the funny part. We are growing so big our San to accommodate our customers—too Irancisco store is actually too small small to permit of the conveniences we would like to give our iriends. These misled simpletons all together haven’t as much common sense, say nothing of business sense, in their whole make-up as the bottle-washer in The Owl's laboratory has in his little finger. They made us in 1892—boosted us again in 1897, and now they will increase our business at least 50 per cent. There is not a single one of these whiners with brains enough to run a peanut stand and make it pay! If they had any sense at all they wouldn’t be little druggists blowing spit balls at The Owl—they would be men with business ability to meet and successfully cope with business conditions. Let us say right here, and say it so there will be no misunderstanding, The Owl will be in existence long after the Sheriff closes these small pill- and The Owl will always cut prices and The Owl will always give the best drug service, and The Owl will run its own business to suit its customers. Don’t Let the Trust Rob You on Prescriptions—They Will Do It. We will save you money on prescriptions. If you don’t believe it, take your prescription to any drug store, get its prices, and then come here. We will save vou from ten to fifty per cent. And what’s more, we will forfeit $1000.00 if the prescription is not filled with the purest and most dependable and filled just as the doctor orders it, and let your doctor be the judge. We have a system for checking and filling prescriptions that cannot be equaled, for no mistake can occur. We fill over 100,000 prescriptions a year and never have a complaint. Telephone to us for a boy, and we will send for your prescription, fill it at once, and send it to you—and still save you money, and give you a pre- scription that could not be filled better, more accurately, or with purer or fresher ingredients. Telephone South 356. very drugs, e Best Paid Clerks—Most Intelli- gent and Experienced Men— Registered Pharmacist. Some druggists will tell you that our clerks are not good men—not com- petent. This is a lie, and they tell it because they are sore—not a store in the whole 227 has a clerk that is better than The Owl’s poorest man. The Owl Drug Company pay their clerks the highest wages paid in America to drug clerks—we pay these men high wages because they are com- petent men—because they have intelligence and because they are worth their wages. The combine stores overwork their clerks—-underpay them — make them wear out their lives behind counters—these poor fellows never get half a chance to rise. Owl clerks work but few hours—give good, polite and efficient service while on duty—get big wages (from $75.00 to $175.00 per month),and are per- mitted plenty of time for recreation and refreshment, and are always wide- awuke and ready for business. Don't let the combine belittle our clerks, for no better men ever sold medicines than the clerks who work for The Owl. If you had been at the ban- quet board in Zinkand’s a few weeks ago when The Owl clerks and employers were feasting together, you would have heard true words about the way The Owl treat their assistants expressed by the men themselves. Telephone Orders Delivered Free—South 356. The @w! Drug Store never closes. The hinges on the front door of The Owl Drug Store have not creaked in ten years—every minute of the day and night there are competent and experienced clerks ready to wait on you or to answer your telephone. We have thousands of customers in San Francisco who seldom visit the store, but do their purchasing entirely over the telephone or by mail. For this department we have a score of boys who will quickly deliver your purchases to any part of ‘San Francisco any time of the day and night. No order is too small to receive prompt and courteous attention—no or- der is so large but that we can fill it at once. Use your telephone freely—call us up as often as you want to—order what you please, and we will only be too glad to accommodate you. 1128 MARKET STREET 13th and Broadway, Oakland.
