£ $000000000000000000000 |~ HOW THE TRUTH IS HID Editor Nonpartisan Leader: ' : I believe there is room in" North Dakota for a daily newspaper such as you suggest and that it would be a grand thing for the people of the state to have such a newspaper, one that would print t}}e. news and one that could not be sub- sidized to Keep quiet’ when matters of Amportance affecting all of the people of the -state “are being discussed at the capitol. ! My own experience Wwas that during the last session of the legislature it was ‘practically impossible to get ‘any pub- llcii.:y whatever upon the acts -of the !eglslature, and particularly, as to the investigation then being conducted of the “affairs of the board of control. .1 am ' heartily .with .you .in your proposition. y . . . OSCAR 7. SEILER. “LET US HAVE THE DAILY” Editor Nonpartisan Leader: - There is no doubt that a daily edition of th& - Nonpartisan' Leader, at least through the fall campaign and through the coming session of the” legislature, would be the very best thing that the. League could do. S DA R IS - The most important part of the great League organization is, I believe, the Nonpartisan Leader. Just imagine what the League would have been today with- out it. With no information as to what was going on except from “Crafty’s” papers, the League would have been as dead as “Froggy Smith’s” boom for gov- ernor. " Part of the members would have quit on account of ‘the “Socialistic” record of some of the officers, and the rest would have been afraid of being held liable for the League’s debts, and dropped out. W o The -hearts of the great majority of the people of North Dakota, are right, and when they know the truth as to what is being done, they will not be long in correcting existing evils: 2 ..A daily report to all the people of what is_being done in the legislature, will not ‘only. be of'great interest to them, - ‘but ‘will act as a’check on the legislature. There will likely be- something doing every day, and not waste day after day on unimportant. matters, and rush the really important- measures through in the last few days of the session. ! By all'means let us have the daily. ' C. W. M'DONNELL.
