Sothern, finds him self at the age of 68, after 50 vears on the stage. The lusty dialogue of gangsters and their girl frlends and the frank talk of the more polite moderns have no charm for' E. H. Sothern and he will geek another direction for some outlet for his energies. Ever since Miss Julia Marlowe's retirement from the active duties of the theater some three or four seasons ago she and Mr. Sothern have been besieged with proposals to repeat their Rhakerpearean per- formances. Mrs. Sothern's decision, however, is not to be shaken. She is too happy in the renewed health and repose which it is reported she has found in Switzerland.
