CHICAGO, April 24—Retail ad- Avemsmg volume in the newspapers ‘lof 80 major markets during the week ended April 13 was 6.2 per cent greater than during the correspond- ing week of 1939, according to fig- ures released today by Advertising Age, national advertising newspaper. Total retail linage in all news- papers in the 80 measured cities | was 20508175 during the week, compared with 19,305.747 during the corresponding week of last year, a gain of 1.200.000 lines. For the 15-week period since the beginning of the vear, total retail linage in these cities was 275,080.315 an increase of 1.6 per cent, or slight- I ly less than 4.500.000 lines, over the 270.660.315 lines carried in the cor- responding 15-week period of 1939. ’? Sales of Fluid Milk : Increase for March By the Associated Press NEW YORK, April 24 —Dailv | average sales of fluid milk in March totaled 6.579.263 quarts. an increase of 081 of 1 per cent over 6,526,184 quarts in March last year. the Milk Industry Foundation said today.
