Y., formerly of Washington, announced the engagement of their daughter Mere- dith to Mr. Dongld Frederick Taylor 8t a dance givén in her honor last night at the Governors Island Club. Miss Haines was graduated from the Spence School in New York City in 1936. She is at present a student at the New York Schoo} of Fine and Applied Arts. Mr. Taylor is the son of Mr. H. Frederick Taylor and Mrs, Taylor of Medford, Mass. He was graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the class of 1935. Miss Phoebe Hinman Engaged to Wed. MAJ. The Council of Jewish Juniors are making plans for a pre-Thanksziving dance to be held at the Wardman Park Hotel, November 20. The proceeds of the dance is used for the council’s many philanthropic projects, one of which is the Dorothy Goldsmith Camp Fund, which provides two weeks at a camp for poor and un- derprivileged children.
