Primings and common grades of leaf offered during the first full week of auctioning on the Virginia tobacco markets in the old belt, showed today an average slightly higher than the 1936 price for the first full week. However, choice piles which brought upwards of $60 a hundred pounds during, the week tended to buoy the market, The floors were filled during the week and warehousemen generally predicted heavy breaks throughout next week.
