THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGTON, D..-T, WEDNESDAY, JULY -7, 1937 In the Hunt Country Activities Among the Horse-Lovers of Virginia and Maryland. BY NINA CARTER TABB. 1 THE Leny Manor Horse Show, to be held Saturday on the estate of John R. Buchanan, near @ Warrenton, for the benefit of the Fauquier County Hospital, is the most im portant spoiting event in ‘his “neck of the woods” the coming week end. The committee is composed of | Miss Polly Buchanan, president; Miss | Jane Calvert, vice president, and Rob- bert Wallack, jr., secretary-treasurer. A horse show was held last July on the Buchanan place by the young people of Warrenton, and they made & nice amount of money for their local hospital. All riders, officials and judges of the show are not over 21 years of age, and most of them are under that age. It is wonderful to see how well these young horsemen and horsewomen arrange and manage the show. It will be an interesting day from start to finish. Many good horses and the best ponies in this part of the country have been entered in the 20 classes of the day. 3 Judging the show will be Miss | Bettina Belmont and Mike Kerr of | Middleburg and John S. Harrison of | Philadelphia. The latter winner | of the Maryland Hunt Cup in April, when he rode Welbourne Jake to vic- tory.
