THE EVENING STAR, WASHINGT 0 D. FRIDAY JUNE 4, 1 In the Hunt Country BY NINA CARTER TABB. R. AND MRS. WILLIAM DOELLER entertained sev- eral hundred guests at their lovely place. Prospect Hill, on Wednesday night. The occasion was their 14th wedding anniversary and it was In & way & house warming, as it is the first large party the Doellers have given since building and mov- ing into the new Prospect Hill—the old brick house which was built by Chief Justice Marshall for one of his aons having been destroyed by fire & few years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Doeller spent some time in Hawaii recently and surprised their friends by giving a Hawaiian party. The guests, arriving at 8:30 o'clock, found on a large tray in the dressing rooms tiny envelopes with their names. Inside was the number of the table at which you were to sit This was to be an out-of-doors party, %0 you went out the side door into the brick-paved, curved arcade. Bill Doel- ler was standing there by a table piled high with leis of every color and kind of flower. As the ladies greeted him he placed a lei around each neck, always selecting a color to correspond to or mingle well with the gowns worn Lou Doeller stood farther down the line, looking stunning and wearing A | gown with a white silk background | covered with large flowers of pinkish | red. Around her neck was a bright | pink lei | The back lawn and gardens were softly 1t with Hawaiian lights and after cocktails had been passed among us, we walked down to where dinner was (o be. Here you found the most marvelous scene—the large brick man- sion stood as a back ground and be- low it_on a terrace, was a platfo™m for dancing, decorated with flowers and greens.
