Special Dispatch to The Star. FAIRFAX, Va., April 17.—Building activity in Fairfax County during the month of March, as reflected by the volume of building permits issued through the office of County Commis- sioner of the Revenue James U. Kincheloe, more than doubled over the preceding month. A total of $68,150 in such permits was issued, a jump of $37,390 over the figure for the morith of February. At the same time the records of the com- missioner of the revenue show that the total valuation of building permits is- sued for the first three months of 1937 is considerably ahead of the similar period last year. Increase Over 1936. Through March 31, 1936, building permits aggregating $103,450 had been granted, while for the current year the figure totals $133,880, an increase of $30,430. Permits issued in March, 1936, exceeded the total for this March by a slight margin.
