McAdoo, 38-year-old son of United States Senator William Gibbs McAdoo, He had been ill since Wednesday. The Senator was at the bedside. The son, who was in the investment banking and insurance business here, lived in the exclusive Sutton place neighborhood. At the age of 18, when the United States entered the World War, he en- listed in the Navy. He later was transferred to naval aviation and was about to obtain his pilot’s commission when the armistice | was signed. Afterward, he studied at Princeton | University for three years and then entered Babson Institute. From the latter school of business near Boston, | he entered offices here. McAdoo was a son of the thrice- \marned Senator and his first wife, | he former Sarah H. Fleming of | Chattanooga, Tenn., who died in 1912. McAdoo of New York, | MRS. WITMER DIES AT FLORIDA HOME Widow of Well-Known Physi- cian Was Society Leader in Washington. Mrs. Roberta King Stone Witmer, 78, widow of Dr. A. H. Witmer, well- known physician, died Friday at her Winter home in Sanford, Fla. She had been ill three weeks. Funeral services are being held this afternoon in Rock Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Witmer, a member of one of ‘Washington's oldest families, was & leader in society here in pre-war days. Her father was the late Willlam James Stone, distinguished Washing- ton lawyer; her mother, formerly Mary Lyons Green, was the daughter of ‘Thomas Green of Richmond, owner of the old Van Ness place on Seventeenth street, now the site of the Pan-Ameri- can Building. Mrs. Witmer was a second past pres- ident general of the National Society of Americans of Royal Descent; was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames, the Daughters of the Cincinnati and of the board of St. John's Orphanage. She also belonged to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Six- teenth and H streets, attended by her family for three generations. She is survived by a son, George Stone Witmer of Sanford, and a brother, George B. Stone of Warren- ton, Va. ARTHUR B. FRANTZ, ACCOUNTANT, DIES counting Office—Active in Masonic Affairs. Authur B. Frantz, 56, of 1619 Rhode Island evenue, a senior accountant in the General Accounting Office, died Saturday night in George Washington University Hospital. He had been ill about two weeks. Mr. Frantz first came to Washington in 1917 and was employed by the George A. Fuller Co., builders. From 1920 to 1925, he was a junior accoun- tant with the Shipping Board. He then went to Florida to become mem- bership secretary of the Chamber of Commerce at Jacksonville, remaining there until 1929, when he went to High Point, N. C., as representative of an Indiana commercial firm. He returned to Washington in 1932, to take the position he held when he died. Active in Masonic affairs, Mr. Frantz was past master of Acacia Lodge, at Waynesboro, Pa., and a past president of the Anchor Masonic Club of Washington. He was a thirty-second degree Scottish Rite Mason, with membership in Albert Pike Consistory. Mr. Frantz is survived by his widow, Mrs. Elsie Amos Frantz; two brothers and two sisters, Herbert Frantz, Wells- ton, Ohio; Robert Frantz, Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. John W.
