SOCIETY. Foreign Visitors In Capital Horse Show Brings Round of Entertain- ing at Embassies. The Polish Ambassador, Count Jerzy Potocki, will entertain at luncheon Tuesday in honor of Mr. -Landreth Harrison, who shortly will leave for his new post as third secre- tary of the United States Embassy at Warsaw. Mr. Harrison has been on duty in the Eastern European division of the State Department where he has hadgparticular charge of affairs of the Baltic states, Poland and Finland, for which Mr. Harrison is well versed, having made a special study of these ‘countries. The Ambassador is at Saratoga Springs today attending the observ- ance of the anniversary of the Battle of Saratoga in which Gen. Kosciusko, famous Polish officer, took part, The observance today is in honor of the Ambassador’s distinguished country- | man who took such an active and ef- fective part in the Revolytionary War | of the United States. Senor Chevalier has been appointed undersecretary of foreign affairs of Panama after 14 years as gecretary of the legation in Washing- ton. Senor and Senora de Chevalier have been constantly entertained since the announcement of their leaving, and yesterday Mrs. J. J. Lewis was hostess at luncheon in compliment to Senora de Chevalier.
