Reflecting & continued movement of gold from abroad, the Federal Reserve Bank's weekly condition statement climbed to a new high level during the week ended September 23. On that date, the statement re- ported, -monetary gold stocks reached | $10,786,000,000, an increase of $34,- 000,000 over the preceding week and 489,000,000 over the same week a year ago. Attributable in part to the gold stock rise, member bank reserve balances turned upward $19,000,000 to $6,225,- 000,000 during the week, or $989,000,- 000 over the same week a year ago.
