H WOODRING CITES PAST CHARGES IN CAMPAIGNS Constitution an Issue Since Time of Wuhin‘tsm, War Veterans Told. By the Associatad Press. BROOKLYN, September 14 —Hsarry F. Woodring, Acting Secretary of ‘War, told a Veteran of Foreign Wars meeting last night that “scarcely & sresidential election passes without some ardent orator prmclnmtn‘ that the Constitution is endangered.” George Washington, Woodring said, was charged with violation of the ' Constitution’s letter and spirit, and— “As Washington was attacked, so was Jefferson. And so in turn were Jackson, Lincoln, Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. “It was charged that they flouted the Constitution, that they were or sought to be dictators. “It is significant that the abler the President, the more virulent the at- tack. It is significant, too, that in every instance the attack failed.” e HELP—MEN, CLERK for retall liquor store: experi- an preferred: must have refer- Shces.
