Shelton-Horner Wedding in Johnson City, Tenn. +. The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Paul Horner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ber- nard Williams Horner of this city and Memphis, to Mr. Benjamin Jarnigan Shelton, son of Mrs. Caroline Mathe- son Shelton and the late Mr. Stephen Shelton, of Washington, took place June 6 at 4 o'clock in the Munsey Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, Bouth, in Johnson City, Tenn. ‘The ceremony was performed by the bride’s uncle, Rev. Giles Buckner Palmer, rector of St. Stephen’s Church, Richmond, Va. assisted by Rev. James Hardin George, Canon of Christ Church Cathedral of St. Louis, Mo,, also uncle of the bride, and Dr. ‘William Freeman Blackard, pastor of Munsey Memorial Church. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her sister, Miss Margaret Anne Horner, was maid of honor, and Mrs. George Oldham was matron of honor. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. James Harper Shelton of ‘Washington, as best man. The ushers were Mr. George Oldham, this city; Mr. Walter H. Andrews, jr.; Mr. John McMillan and Mr. Prederick Carmack, all of Washington, D. C. The bride wore a princess gown of fvory satin finished with cowl neck- line and veil of Brussels lace, falling from a halo cap of lace. Her flowers were an arm bouquet of calla lilies. Miss Horner and Mrs. Oldham wore afternoon gowns of blue organza trimmed in shell pink ribbon. They ‘wore Mary Queen of Scots hats and carried arm bouquets of pink roses and delphinium. Little Miss Felicia Brandt, as flower girl, wore an organdie frock and carried an old-fashioned nosegay of delphinium. Thomas Carr, the ring bearer, wore a double-breasted satin suit. The nuptial music was played by Mrs. H. C. Black, organist; Mr. Allen Dryden of Kingsport, soloist, and Miss Mary Luter Wright, harpist. Following the wedding ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Horner entertained with an informal reception at the John Sevier Hotel. Guests included the bridal party and out-of-town guests. The bride, whose father is State ad- ministrator of the Federal Housing Administration, has been associated with the Library of Congress, Wash- ington, for the last two years, She attended Randolph-Macon College, Lynchburg, Va., where she graduated in music and received her bachelor of arts degree. Following graduation she spent the Summer in European travel. Mr. Shelton is an electrical engineer with the Potomac Electric Co. in Washington. He received his degree in electrical engineering from the ‘University of South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Shelton left last night in their car for a trip through the North Carolina Mountains.
