SOCIETY. Mrs. Roosevelt Leaves Tonight to Executive Join Chief for Holiday Mrs. Morgenthau Goes to Farm for Thanks- giving—Espils to Spend Holiday in New RS. ROOSEVELT will leave this evening to join the President at Warm Springs, Ga., for Thanksgiving. She will accompany the President to Atlanta on Priday and will return to Washington Wednesday, December 4. That evening Mrs. Roosevelt will be the guest of honor at dinner at the Mayflower of the Research Club, recently organized group of teachers. Thursday morning, December 5 she will hold her next press conference, having met with the group of news- paper women this morning in the west sitting room on the second floor of the Executive Mansion. Before her return to Washington next week Mrs. Roosevelt will be in New York and Tuesday, December 3, will visit the opening of the first homes in the New York City slum clearance project. Mrs. Henry Morgenthau, jr., wife of the Secretary of the Treasury, left today for their farm in New York State where the Secretary will join her tomorrow to remain for Thanks- giving and the week end. The Secre- tary and Mrs. Morgenthau are now in their new home at 2201 R street, which they leased last Spring. The Ambassador of Argentina and Senora de Espil have gone to New York, where they will remain over the holiday and week end. Senator and Mrs. Royal S. Cope- land, who are now at their home in Venice, Fla., are planning on return- ing to New York City for Christmas and will spend the holidays at their home in Suffern, N. Y. They wil arrive in Washington for the opening of Congress. Mrs. Davis, wife of Senator James | J. Davis, was hostess to a company of Miss McNeale Makes| Debut This Afternoon Miss Margaret McNeale will make her bow to Washington society this afternoon at a tea which her mother, | Mrs. Donald MecNeale, will give at| the home of the debutante’s grand- mother, Mrs. Louis Smoot, on Wyom- ing avenue. 4 Miss McNeale will wear a taffeta | gown of a dusky rose shade, fash-| foned with a round neckline and short puffed sleeves. Butler of Boston, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Mary Webster, to Mr. Charles Hull Sewall, | son of the Rev. and Mrs. Oliver D. BSewall of Dedham, Mass. Miss Butler, who was a schoolgir! while her father was in Congress, has since graduated from the May School in Boston and later studied in Paris. Mr. Sewall is a graduate of the Noble and Greenough School and of Dart- mouth College and is a member of the Theta Delta Chi Fraternity. No date is set for the wedding.
