NEW YORK, November 26.—Losses ranging from major fractions to 2 points or more were the rule in curb market dealings today, as the junior market followed the lead of the stock exchange price trend. Some of the losers included Ameri- ean Gas & Electric, Babcock & Wilcox, Colt’s Firearms, Swift Internacional. Universal Products, Newmont and Commonwealth Edison. Electric Bond & Share dipped frac- tionally following the announcement that the S. E. C. had filed suit against the corporation and some of its aflli- ates in an attempt to force compli- ance with the registration provisions of the utility act of 1935, DOMESTIC BONDS. High. Low. WHOLESALE INDEX AT NEW 1935 HIGH & Fertilizer Association Finds Average Also at Peak Since March, 1933. The wholesale commodity price in- dex compiled by the National Ferti- lizer Association in the week ended November 23 advanced to the highest point reached this year, and also the highest in the period since March, 1933. The index for the week stood at 80 per cent of the 1926-1928 average, compared with 79.5 in the preceding week, 793 a month ago and 75.7 a year ago. The highest point pre- viously attained this year was 79.6, in October. The general trend of prices was up- ward during the week, with five of the component groups of the index, in- ! cluding the four most heavily weighted groups, advancing and only three de- The largest advance was registered by the grains, feeds and live stock index, reversing the decline which had been in progress for the | two preceding months. Twelve commodities included in this group rose in price last week, with grain, feedstuff and live stock prices generally moving higher; slight de- clines took place in oats and rye, the only commodities in the group to move downward. The index of foods prices advanced to a new high point, largely the result of higher quotations for pork and flour. The eleventh consecutive weekly rise in the textiles index occurred last week, reflecting higher prices for cot- ton, cotton yarns.and hemp.
