NEW YORK, November 18.—A further buying movement in the rail section helped to keep values firm in the bond market today. Loans of Alleghany Corp. added substantially to their gains of last week, and those of Southern Rail- way did almost as well. In the bonds of St. Paul, Great Northern, Frisco, Erie and several more fractional gains predominated. Alleghany Corp. 5s of 1950 pushed up 3': to 44!, and Southern Railway 4s climbed 2 to 47. Utility and industrial divisions were steady to firm. United States Governments had a| somewhat irregular range with gains' and losses running from 1-32 to 3-32 of a point.
