ROOSEVELT left ihe White House early today for her home at Hyde Park, L where she will remain until the President’s return. dent's wife returned to the Capital Sunday evening from the West Coast, where she accompanied her husband. She arrived from the Coast by air- plane and made several stops, in- cluding one at Fort Worth to visit her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Roosevelt. Mrs. Henry A. Wallace, wife of the Secretary of Agriculture, left to- day by motor for Asheville, N. C., where she will visit her son, Robert Wallace, who attends the Asheville School for Boys. Mrs. Wallace will return the end of the week to the Capital. The Minister of Norway, Mr. Wil- helm Munthe de Morgenstierne, who | returned to the Capital Sunday from Norway, left yesterday for Minne- apolis, where he will be the guest epeaker at the Leiv Eiriksson cele- bration in that city tomorrow. Leiv Eiriksson will be celebrated all over the United States this year as offi- cially proclaimed by the President &nd Congress. The Minister will remain in the Middle West for several weeks and will make addresses in various parts of Minnesota and Iowa. He will yeturn to the Capital the latter part of October, The newly appointed Minister of Egypt. Mr. Amine Youssef, Was among the guests at a luncheon given yes- terday at the legation by the charge d'affaires, Nicolas Khalil Bey, in honor of the United States Minister to Egypt, Mr. Bert Fish. Mrs. Robert Worth Bingham, wife of the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James, is arriving in New York today on the Berengaria, to spend several weeks in this country. She will attend the dedication of Stratford Hall, the birthplace of Robert E. Lee, as a national shrine the end of the week. Representative and Mrs. Tilman Bacon Parks have returned to Wash- ington after an extended trip. They visited in Panama, Honolulu, San Francisco and in Texas.
