SOCIETY. Washingtonians Return From Vacation Trips Mr. and Mrs. Karl Corby and Family Back at Timberlawn After Maine Visit. Many Others Reopen Homes. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Corby and their daughter, Miss Mary Ellen Corby, and Karl Corby, jr., have returned from Maine, where they spent August, and are at Timberlawn, their home on the Rockville Pike in Montgomery County. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dwight Webb have closed their apartment at 2400 Sixteenth street and sailed yesterday for Europe. While abroad they will visit Mr. Webb’s ancestral homes in Scotland and Ireland. They also will visit Mrs. Webb's family home in France before returning to this country. Mrs. Jorge E. Boyd has arrived from her home in Panama City to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rolfe E. Bolling, in their apartment at ‘Wardman Park Hotel. Mrs. Boyd came to Washizgton because of the iliness of her father, who now is re- covering. Mrs. William Henry White has re- turned to her home in Washington after spending July and August at the Homestead, at Hot Springs, Va. Mr. Robert Clifford, son of Col. and Mrs. Ddward Clifford, has gone to Chicago to enter the commercial banking department of the Northern Trust Co. Mr. Clifford is a graduate of Princeton University and the Har- vard Business School. Mrs. Clifford and her daughter, Miss Helen Clifford, who spent the Midsummer in Northern New Hamp- shire, have joined Col. Clifford in their home in Georgetown. Dr. and Mrs. Edmund Barry have returned to their home at 1844 Co- lumbia road after spending the Sum- mer in New England. They were in Maine for a month and made a tour through Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont before coming south. Dr. and Mrs. Herman F. Ermshar of the Washington Sanitarium have returned after a trip to Ohio, where they visited relatives of Mrs. Erm- shar and friends in several cities, in- cluding Cleveland and Columbus. “They spent a short time at the Hard- ing Sanitarium in Worthington, where Mrs. Ermshar was formerly a teacher. Later they attended a reunion of the Yles family, of which Mrs. Ermshar 4s a member, in Mansfield. Dr. Erm- shar also gave a medical lecture at | Mount Vernon, Ohio. Mrs. Randolph D.
