Free esti- By a Staff Correspondent of The Star. FALLS CHURCH, Va., August 27.— The old, tumbled-down cabin of Tru- man Brush, the last male member of an old Virginia family, who was mur- dered Friday for the money he was known to have hidden, gave up part of its hoard late yesterday when a searching party, making a third effort to unearth the cache, found “a large sum” in currency stuffed in two tin cans and a cardboard box. ‘What was not found, however, was the two-quart can of pennies with which the aged recluse was recently seen, Mr. Brush's will was also found yes- terday in an old chest of drawers. Mayor L. P. Daniel of Falls Church, a kinsman of the slain man, would not reveal the contents of the document or the amount of the currency un- earthed. Ome can was secreted in the planking between the second and first floors; a second can buried in the floor of a small closet, and the box covered over with a large pile of old cans in the room where Brush cooked his meals and slept. Phone STAR, SALLY RAND’S ART AS “SADIE” LAUDED | Boston Paper Praises Dramatic Adroitness With Maine Play- ers in “Rain.” By the Associated Press, BOSTON, August 27.—Sally Rand, much publicized fan dancer, “offered definite evidence she is to be taken seriously as a dramatic actress,” the Boston Globe says in commenting on WASHINGTON, D. C,.TUESDAY, AUGUST 27, 1935. her performance a: Sadie Thompson in the play “Rain,” with the Lake- wood Players at Skowhegan, Me,, last night. “That she acquitted hrself creditably was evidenced by the enthusiasm and long-sustained applause of her dis- criminating audience,” the Globe says. “Her Sadie is less bitter than most portrayals of the part. She empha- sizes the helplessness of the girl to combat the persecution of the re- former and she presented r piteous figure as the reformer hammered his accusations. Her Sadie, too, is more a creature of circumstances, yet she rises to powerful dramatic climaxes with a fine authority and s feeling for emotional drama.” e ARMY ORDERS, Huber, Col.
