PEORIA, I, July 25.—Gerald Thompson's wall of stolid nerves ap- peared to be crumbling today under the eyes of the scores of persons who jammed a court room to hear his trial for the slaying of Mildred Hallmark, 19. WORCESTER, Mass.,, July 25.—In- vestigators report there is no evidence to warrant criminal action against ville girl, in the alleged drowning of Mrs. Alice S8herman by her husband, Newell Sherman, Satton choir singer and Scoutmaster.
