WATBH OIL PRICES. {ELECTRIC POWER AS OUTPUT CLIMBS Continued Weakness of Refinery Market. By the Associated Press. TULSA, Okila., July 17-—~The oil in- dustry was silently eyeing prices to- day as crude ofl production continued to mount and the refinery market showed little signs of strengthening. There was little in the week’s devel- opments to inspire optimism about the immediate situation and the hopeful talk was centered on the “long pull” prospects. Among the week’s developmen was | another slash in Pennsylvania crude prices, the third in two months. It nickel under $2 a barrel. That was explained here as a “local | situation,” due to increased recovery of oil in Pennsylvania by use of water in foreing oil out of the sands. Crude production took another | | jump, soaring to 2746691 barrels a day, approximately 38000 barrels above the previous week and 80,000 | barrels more than for the same week | & year ago. Okahloma and California were the principal sources of the hike, | as East Texas was curtailed. H Crude prices in Mid-Continent, | however, remained steady and there was no indication of an immediate cut. Refinery prices held their own de-| spite reports of reduction in retail| prices in scattered cities, There was | little surplus gasoline offered on the | slow market. Third-grade gasoline was steady throughout the week at 4%84% and regular was quoted af 5'%a5%. Kerosene was quoted at 3%4a3% for 41-43 gravity water white | and one-zighth of a cent higher for| 42-44 gravity. e NEW YORK BANK STOCKS | ~ | # YORK.
