SOCIETY. Week End Parties of Virginians Over-Sunday House Parties in Nearby States. Lieut. Comdr. and Mrs, Forrest B. Royal will have with them over the week end in their home in Aurora Hills, Va., Mrs. Royal's nephew, Mr. william H. Vermilye and his flancee, Miss Ruth Anderson, both of Plain- field, N. J. Lieut. and Mrs. W. G. Schindler, with their two young daughters, closed their house in Aurora Hills, Va., Mon- day and are the guests of Lieut. and Mrs. William Van Hamilton in their home in Clarendon until they leave tomorrow morning by motor for_the ‘West Coast, where they will sall May 13 for Shanghai, China. ‘Wednesday evening, Lieut. and Mrs. Schindler were hosts at dinner, hav- ing as guests Lieut. and Mrs. Hamil- ton and Lieut. and Mrs. Albert Mur- daugh. Yesterday afternoon from 5 to 7 o'clock they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ambrose of Alex- andria at a cocktail party. Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Richmond have as their guests in their home in Takoma Park, D. C., for the week end Mrs. Richmond’s brother and Mr. M. E. Wright and Mrs. Wright, with their sons, Cornell Girdner and Lynn of East Orange, N. J. Miss Peggy Bailey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard P. Bailey of Silver Spring, Md,, has as her guest for 10 days her cousin, Miss Joan May Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Brown, of Middletown, N. Y. Mrs. Bernard F. Divine of Silver Spring, Md, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Clara B. King, and her nephew, James King, both of Silver Spring, and Miss Eleanor Shannon of ‘Washington will motor Monday to New York, where they will pass a week at the Hotel New Yorker. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Amatucci of Sligo Park Hills, Md., with their sons, John Martin and Thomas, left this morning by motor for Atlantic City, N..J., where they will stay until Sunday and then drive to New York, Teturning the early part of next week. Mrs. G. M. Wolfe has returned to her home in Linden, Md., after spend- ing the past three months at Fort Myers, Fla. Mrs. Wolfe was accom- panied on her trip by Mr. and Mrs. Enos Keys of Linden and Mrs. James A. Watson of Silver Spring, Md. Mrs. George Sloan of Warrenton is chairman of the Fauquier County Tu- berculosis Association Gymkhana to be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Stuyvesant School horse-show grounds.
