TENPLARS PLAN SUNRISE SERVICE Annual Easter Rites to Be Held at Arlington Na- tional Cemetery. The annual Easter sunrise service at Arlington National Cemetery will be conducted Sunday at 7:30 am. under auspices of the Grand Com- mandery of the District of Columbia Knights Templar, assisted by visiting knights from several nearby States. Six separate commandery organi- gations in the city will participate in the services and ranking officials of the Government have been invited to ettend. The Religious Service Com- mittee in charge consists of Eugene E. Thompson, chairman; Arthur M. Poynton, Arthur C. Shaw, J. Claude Keiper and J. Fred Huber. The serv- ice will be broadcast by the Columbia Broadcasting System through Station WJSV. U. S. Marine Band to Lead. The United States Marine Band will lead the impressive procession of knights in the full regalia of their order. They will form at the west | gate of the cemetery, marching to the amphitheater, where the service is scheduled to start at 7:30 o'clock. There will be prayers by Rev. Dr. James Shera Montgomery, chaplain of the House, who is grand prelate of the District commandery; by Rev. Dr. John C. Palmer, grand chaplain of the Grand Lodge, F. A. A. M., of | the District, and by Rev. Dr. Sydney Kay Evans, chief of chaplains, United States Navy. Hymns will be sung to music of the Marine Band under leadership of Capt. Taylor Branson, the singing to be led by the choral unit of the Order of Eastern Star, including 60 voices, under direction of Mrs. Selma Klein and Theodore C. Lewis. Members of the unit will appear in red vestments. Dr. Gray to Preach. ‘The sermon will be preached by | Rev. Dr. Joseph M. M. Gray, chan- | cellor of the American University. A feature of the program will be the presence of the 125 uniformed members or Job's Daugnters, compris- ing groups from Bethel No. 1 and Bethel No. 2 of Washington, Bethel No. 4 of Alexandria, Va., and Bethel | No. 10 of Mount Rainier, Md. Under direction of J. C. McConnell, driil master. they will form & cross in the parquet of the amphitheater prior to the opening of the service.
